Award Guidelines
Each year, Metropolitan Community College recognizes the outstanding achievements of an MCC graduate with the presentation of the Distinguished Alumni Award. The individual must be someone who in deed and action reflects and recognizes the importance of his or her education at MCC and demonstrates pride in the alma mater.
The Distinguished Alumni Award is presented annually at the Metropolitan Community College Foundation Scholars Reception in the spring. Nominations are accepted throughout the year. Nominees who are not selected remain in the pool for five years from the nomination date. Applications are reviewed by a selection committee.
Any individual may nominate an MCC graduate for this award by submitting to the MCC Foundation office the following materials:
Individuals making nominations are also encouraged to supply additional materials including, but not limited to, newspaper or magazine articles about the nominee, publications or other materials produced by the nominee and additional letters of recommendation. No more than three separate documents, please.
Current members of the MCC Foundation Board of Directors, MCC Board of Governors, MCC Foundation, staff or any dependents thereof are ineligible to receive this award. Distinguished alumni awards are not granted posthumously.
