Media Alert: Annual MCC competition for entrepreneurs returns tonight

What: Metropolitan Community College will host the Student Quick Pitch Contest, a competition where students will present their entrepreneurial ideas in front of a panel of expert judges in a format similar to the one found on ABC’s hit show “Shark Tank.”

When: Tuesday, April 30, 6-9 p.m.

Where: Room 120 inside the Industrial Training Center at MCC’s South Omaha Campus 2909 Edward Babe Gomez Ave.

Background: MCC student contestants have approximately two minutes to present their entrepreneurial idea to a panel of judges from the local entrepreneur community. The panel will determine the winners after every student receives individual feedback. Participants will be judged on their logic, presentation quality, product or service advantage, target market and credibility. Scholarships will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners.

The event will also feature a workshop with Blake Martin, founder of FranNet of the Heartland, a franchise consulting firm in Nebraska and Western Iowa.
