Media alert: Johnny Rodgers Scholarship luncheon to be held Monday

What: Metropolitan Community College will host a luncheon for approximately 40 MCC student recipients of the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship. Johnny Rodgers will serve as the keynote speaker for the event.

When: Monday, Jan. 14 at 11:30 a.m.

Where: Swanson Conference Center inside the Institute for the Culinary Arts, Fort Omaha Campus, 32nd Street and Sorensen Parkway.

Background: The Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship is awarded to students pursuing a degree in career and technical education programs at MCC. Recipients can use the scholarship for tuition, fees and books. Scholarships are generally offered during the spring and fall quarters. The Johnny Rodgers Foundation annually sponsors The Jet Award, bestowed to the best collegiate football return specialist. Partial proceeds go towards the Johnny Rodgers Career and Technical Education Scholarship.
