About Information Technology

Welcome to the MCC Information Technology program website. This is an excellent time to start or reboot your IT education at Metropolitan Community College. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (Sept. 8, 2021), Employment in computer and information technology occupations is projected to grow 13 percent from 2020-30, faster than the average for all occupations. These occupations are projected to add about 667,600 new jobs. Demand for these workers will stem from greater emphasis on cloud computing, the collection and storage of big data, and information security just to name a few. MCC offers high-quality programs in all of these IT pathways of study, so you could not pick a better place to begin this journey.

If you are a planning to transfer to a four-year college or university to study computer science or adjacent IT pathway of study, you are also in the right place to begin or continue your college experience. Our Computer Technology Transfer degrees (Computer Science and Management Information Systems) will provide students with the courses needed to seamlessly complete your college education at a number of four-year colleges and universities both locally and nationally. Our Information Technology faculty and staff teams work very closely with our local four-year institution partners to help ensure our course work remains closely aligned to help ensure maximum course transferability.
