Morrissey Engineering provided design services for the Metropolitan Community College Academic Data Center located in the Center for Advanced and Emerging Technology (CAET) building on the Fort Omaha Campus. The data center supports the Information Technology program area while giving its Data Center Management students real time experience.
Metropolitan Community College has been named the EPI-USA National Training Center, making the College the premier venue in the United States for data center training.
The MCC and EPI-USA training partnership will not only serve business and industry through providing accessible certification training to local workforce professionals but will also make Omaha a destination for globally-accredited data center training throughout the United States and Canada. EPI-USA will help with training people to fill in-demand jobs in data centers in and around the metro area. Much of the data center management training can be done between two and five days.
MCC has always been a leader in data center training for the region,” said Tom Pensabene, MCC associate vice president of Workforce and IT Innovation. “By partnering with EPI-USA and becoming the National Training Center, we are better positioned to serve the rapid growth of data centers in the four-county area by providing training and new talent to keep them in operation.
