What is Gateway to College?
Gateway to College is a nationally recognized scholarship and dual-credit high school diploma completion program. The program serves students ages 16-20 years of age who would like an educational setting that is individually tailored for student success. Gateway to College is for Students Who:
- Are 16-20 years old
- Read at an appropriate level
- Want a different educational setting
- Are ready to earn college credit
- Are ready to earn a high school diploma, not a GED
- Are able to complete their high school diploma by age 21
- Are approved by previous high school
WHY GATEWAY TO COLLEGE?
Gateway to College students learn how to succeed in a college setting under the guidance of an attentive team of instructors and student resources specialists. The resources specialists help students navigate the college experience - everything from teaching students about goal setting and careers to providing referrals to community resources. During the first quarter, students learn in a small community of peers at the MCC Fort Omaha Campus while completing English, math and career classes.
