Spring 2010 |
Newly elected Board of Governors Chairwoman Crystal Rhoades hopes to be a
uniting leader as MCC tackles a number of key issues.
Top among them: Addressing legislative concerns, including the funding
formula that distributes state aid to community colleges; focusing on
MCC´s response to business and community needs; and strengthening
partnerships with local schools and other higher education institutions.
"MCC has been growing at record speed, and we are committed to
developing programming that helps ensure the success of our students and
businesses," Rhoades said.
This year´s budget will support increased enrollment, address local
needs and maximize limited resources, she said.
Rhoades was elected to represent District 4 in 2006, and her term runs
through this year. She was elected Chairwoman at the board´s Jan. 26
meeting. Officers are elected each year.
