Summer 2008 |
At the May 20 meeting, the Metropolitan Community College Board of
Governors approved a $2 increase in the per quarter credit hour tuition for
the 2008–09 academic year. Tuition for residents will be $43 per quarter
credit hour; non-resident tuition increased $3 to $64.50 per quarter credit
hour. The College´s facility fees did not increase. Even with the
increase, MCC still has the lowest community college tuition (along with
Southeast) and is one of the most affordable institutions of higher education
in the state.
With this in mind, a full year´s tuition with fees and books/supplies
at MCC is approximately only $3,300 while the national average for a full year
at a public four-year institution is $6,185 and the average for a private
nonprofit four-year institution is $22,218. MCC is continuing to remain the
leader in affordable, quality postsecondary education.
