South Omaha Campus
South Omaha Campus Mahoney Building Renovation

The renovation of the Mahoney Building for the Allied Health and Professional Studies and Science Departments is approximately 70 percent complete. By the beginning of the Summer quarter, a section will open with eight renovated classrooms available for use by faculty and students. The new northeast entrance and student commons area will be completed by mid-summer. Work in the Science classrooms and laboratory areas continue, along with the extension of work to include the Dental Assisting classroom and operatory-laboratory rooms as well as the Emergency Management classrooms and techniques-laboratory rooms. The entire project will be complete in late August 2009.

Fremont Area Center
Fremont Area Center Remodeling Project

The remodeling project is progressing at the Fremont Area Center remodeling project. Renovation includes new electrical service to the building and central heating and cooling. This construction phase will introduce an additional seven classrooms, a computer classroom, an EMT classroom, a lab and a new data center. The demolition work is nearly complete, making room for a new mechanical room that will house the air handler, boilers, pumps and supportive equipment. The third floor classrooms and data center walls are constructed, with electrical and mechanical work in progress. The classrooms are scheduled to be complete for the start of the Winter quarter.

Fort Omaha Campus
Institute for the Culinary Arts & Alumni Conference Center

The Institute for the Culinary Arts & Alumni Conference Center is enclosed with roofing and exterior sub-sheathing, and the glass work is complete. Interior framing and electrical rough-in is 80 percent complete, and interior finish began with drywall finish and tile installation now 35 percent complete. All major mechanical building equipment is installed and is being connected, including walk-in coolers and freezers and kitchen hoods and exhausts. The parking lot is 75 percent complete.

The Institute for the Culinary Arts & Alumni Conference Center is scheduled for completion in winter 2009.
