In a Nutshell

Winter 2009 | Archives

  • MCC serves 35 percent of the community college students in Nebraska.
  • MCC has had a steady growth rate for the past decade. In fact, MCC now serves 50 percent more students than 12 years ago.
  • In addition to traditional postsecondary educational opportunities, MCC fills in the gap in education through developmental programs in areas such as English, writing, math, English-as-a-Second Language, GED and career-technical courses. These types of courses prepare students to take higher-level courses in a particular career field or for transferability and admission to area universities. No other local higher education institution offers these programs.
  • MCC is constantly looking to expand its ability to serve the population. Development of new programs and expansion of existing offerings allow the College to accommodate more students, which in turn leads to better jobs for area residents.
