HCIA 2421 Clinical Coding I

Students gain knowledge of the International Classification of Diseases, Clinical Modification (ICD-9-CM and ICD-10-CM) systems, official coding guidelines, and application of coding principles to diagnostic statements found across the continuum of healthcare. Students explore utilization of coding resources and tools. The course includes hands-on activities with coding software. NOTE: Course title formerly Clinical Coding I with Lab.
