Steamed Mussels

Onion, maytag, beer

1/2 yellow onion
12 fl. oz. beer of choice
1 oz. Unsalted butter
2 fl. oz. vegetable-oil
2 oz. may tag blue cheese
2 lb. mussels

Heat a large pot on medium heat with the oil and butter.
Add 1/2 julienne cut yellow onion and let sweat until translucent.
Add the beer and let come up to a boil, add the mussels and cover with lid, let steam until most all the mussels are open, if there is some mussels that won't open, discard these as they might be dead.
Once mussels are done, stir in the blue cheese, serve with bread.
