At MCC, our Financial Aid Work Study program offers an AmeriCorps Work Study option known as MCC*Corps.

What is AmeriCorps?

AmeriCorpsExternal link is a  national network of service programs that engages more than 80,000 in service each year through more than 15,000 host sites.  AmeriCorps members help communities tackle problems while mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve.  AmeriCorps is comprised of AmeriCorps VISTA, AmeriCorps NCCC and AmeriCorps State and National (MCC*Corps).

What is MCC*Corps?

MCC*Corps is an AmeriCorps State and National program at Metropolitan Community College (MCC) that partners with community organizations to utilize students to provide direct service in various areas focusing on increasing education and economic opportunities. For the 2014–15 grant year, MCC plans to place 18 MCC*Corps members throughout MCC’s four-county service area.

What is ServeNebraska?

ServeNebraskaExternal link coordinates and supports community involvement by Nebraskans that address the needs of our communities. They coordinate AmeriCorps programming, celebrate volunteer achievements and provide training and technical assistance to all programs across the state including MCC*Corps.
