Larry O'Connor Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship was established in April 2013, in honor of Larry O'Connor by his family and friends. This scholarship was created to assist students pursuing their associates degree in any Applied Technology field. Students must be an active duty of any branch of our armed forces or an honorably discharged veteran.
Larry was raised in Greeley, NE and graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1949.
Following graduation, Larry worked on the family farm. In May 1953, he joined the U.S. Army. Larry was an anti-aircraft gunner at the Thule Airbase in Greenland and was a proud member of the Knights of the Blue Nose. Following his discharge from the U.S. Army in April 1955, Larry returned to the O’Connor Family Farm, where he spent the rest of his life.
Larry was a member of the Greeley American Legion Post No. 186. He was proud to fly the American flag daily. Along with Don Zahm, Larry was instrumental in creating the Avenue Flags at the Greeley Cemeteries.
Larry enjoyed farming and mowing his yard. He was a talented woodworker and re-finisher. For 40 years, Larry and his wife Rosemary operated O’Connor Upholstery.
Scholarship may be used for tuition.

- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
- Pursuing an Applied Technology Degree
- Must be a full-time student
- Must be an active duty member of any branch of our armed forces or honorably discharged veteran
Scholarships are usually offered during the spring and fall quarters. Scholarship availability varies depending on donor giving.
