Mark Bruckner

Mark Bruckner (Composer/Music Director/Sound Designer) has received commissions from regional theatres, universities, and producing organizations across the country to compose, direct music, and create sound designs for classic, contemporary, and new plays. This past spring, he music- directed the workshop premiere of Makeover by Darrah Cloud and Kim D. Sherman as part of the University of Iowa’s Partnership in the Arts program. In NYC he has worked with such companies as The Women’s Project, Circle Rep, Algonquin Theatre Productions, Imua Theatre, LaMama, The New Federal Theatre, The Workshop Theatre, and The Lone Wolf Tribe to name a few. He won the 2012 AUDELCO Award for Best Sound Design for his original music to Jeffrey Sweet’s Court Martial at Fort Devens, produced by Woodie King, Jr. and the New Federal Theatre at Castillo Theatre. His spoken-word musical, Same Train, written in collaboration with playwright Levy Lee Simon and director, Mary Beth Easley, was featured at the 11th biennial National Black Theatre Festival. Mr. Bruckner is a 2013 Henry Hewes Design Nominee for his sound, live music and foley design for the premiere production of Erin Courtney’s, The Service Road, produced by the Adhesive Theater
