Todd Olson
Todd Olson is in his eleventh season as artistic director at American Stage Theatre Company in St. Petersburg, FL. Todd recently won the Best of the Bay and Theatre Tampa Bay awards for Outstanding Director for last season’s The Amish Project. He was last year’s recipient of the Florida Professional Theatre Association’s Richard G. Fallon Award for Excellence in Professional Theatre. Todd has directed over 150 plays, musicals, and operas at theatres like the Actor’s Theatre of Louisville, and Milwaukee Repertory Theatre. As a playwright his works include Casa Blue, the last moments in the life of Frida Kahlo, Citizen Thorpe, new adaptations of Lysistrata and Dracula, and Joe Corso Re-Enters from the Wings, which received the 2012 Holland New Voices Playwright Award at the GPTC. Todd received his M.F.A. from The University of North Carolina, and is a graduate from the Institute for Advanced Theatre Training at Harvard.
