This class covers how plants grow from seed to fruit, including basic plant biology and what you can do to increase food production. Teaching Children in the Garden
For adults wanting to teach gardening to children. Gardens offer a myriad of learning opportunities for children. This class will present play activities and nature exploration in the garden, geared to different age groups; cover basic information about nature and gardening; literature and internet resources; and curricula for use in teaching children about nature and gardening. Hands-on activities will include making insect collecting devices, birdfeeders, and plant experiments.

Garden Design for Childs Play
For adults wanting to teach gardening to children. Learn about designing outdoor spaces and creating garden fun for children’s play. We will talk about the benefits of gardening and nature play for children; learn how children traditionally played in the garden before the days of television; and discover what children’s favorite plants are for play and whimsy. We will look at garden design that accommodates children’s outdoor play and exploration, and explore theme gardens that offer fun and discovery. Hands-on activities will include flower creations and designing a theme garden.
