Basic life support for health care providers includes adult and pediatric CPR, one and two rescuers, foreign body airway obstruction management, and mouth to mask ventilation. This course is taught in cooperation with the American Heart Association.

It is the student's responsibility to maintain a current certification in CPR at all times during the program of study (including 1 man, 2 man, infant, and obstructed airway). The only two courses which include all these components and which are acceptable are:
- American Heart Association - Course C or
- American Red Cross - Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer
