MCC Collegewide Auction
The MCC Collegewide Auction is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 1, FOC, Bldg. 25. Donations of any unwanted College items are welcomed. Fill out the Transfer of Equipment form and send to Central Stores. MCC staff will schedule a time to pick up the items. If you have any questions, contact Bob Barnes at 457-2777 or Central Stores at 457-2300.
MCC Instructors Invited to CASTL Symposium
Through the joint efforts of the Service Learning and Academic Affairs offices, four MCC instructors participated in the Carnegie Academy of the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) Symposium: Janet McCarthy, Trevor Secora, James Van Arsdall and Josephine Wandel. These instructors joined 70 other instructors from all over the United States and Canada at the four-day event held at Creighton University, June 3-6. The Conference challenged MCC instructors to closely evaluate both the method and the content of their courses to maximize student learning.
MCC’s Erin Parisien Won Gold Medal at SkillsUSA National Championship
Erin Parisien was the only gold medal winner from Nebraska at this year's SkillsUSA National Championship in Kansas City, Mo., June 25, 2009. Parisien participated in First Aid/CPR, which required first aid intervention and recognized excellence and professionalism in the students' first aid skills.
Parisien took two written knowledge tests - one for the American Heart Association and one for the American Red Cross - and demonstrated hands-on skills to perform procedures or take appropriate action based on scenarios presented related to those listed in the standards and competencies.

CET's noncredit online courses are open to MCC staff as part of professional development training. More than 150 online courses in the areas of business management, information technology, interpersonal skills, leadership and Command Spanish® are available. Register now! Tuition waiver/remission is available for full-time employees/faculty and part-time regulars using the Employee Tuition Waiver Form. Part-time temp employees and adjunct faculty who want to register should contact their dean's office to arrange for the cost center to be billed the fee before registering. Deans should send cost center billing information to Adam Smith in FOC, Bldg. 5 or by email to asmith102@mccneb.edu so the adjunct faculty and part-time temp employees will not be billed personally. Reference the Employee and Dependent Tuition Waiver Procedures Memorandum for more information.
