Welcome to Metro Community College’s Intramural Sports. Metro is partnering with the YMCA to bring Intramural Recreation Activities to our campuses. Whether you’re a veteran athlete or it’s your first time playing, we think you will find plenty of opportunities to get involved with our Intramural program. Participation in intramurals will enhance your educational experience, as well as physical and mental well-being. The most important aspect of a game is the human relationships that are created between people who play together and the people who officiate. Those who play for its own sake are the real winners because the prize is the play. Active participation by students, faculty and staff as players and student officials are integral to the success of the intramural sports program.

Who’s Eligible
All registered students, faculty and staff members are eligible for intramural participation. One can also sign up with their spouse, on a team or as a free agent.
How to enter
New Winter Sports Schedule
Five Week 5 on 5 Coed BASKETBALL Sessions
Cost: FREE for MCC students enrolled in credit classes. Cost: FREE for MCC students enrolled in credit classes. Non-students teams are $240 per team or $25 per individual. Sign up solo! Individuals will be placed onto a team as a Free-agent and all team rosters will be posted. Each team will consist of a maximum of 10 players and will play 5 on 5. Your team should be at the Butler Gast YMCA at 3501 Ames Ave. 15 minutes prior to game time to check in. All participants must complete a Registration/Risk and Release of Liability Form that can be picked up at Student Services or online. Each team captain should submit a $25 forfeit fee and a list containing the names, phone numbers, and email addresses of the team members.
1st BASKETBALL Session - Sundays
Registration Deadline: Friday, January 12, 2007. Games will be played: Jan 21, 28, Feb 4, 11, 18 at Butler Gast YMCA. Thursday, January 18 your schedule and rules will be e-mailed out to the captain of your team. Please do not call before this time to get game times. Schedule can also be picked up any Student Services location after 2pm on Thursday.

Coed Folk Style Wrestling Metro Classic Wrestling Tournament
Cost: FREE for MCC students enrolled in credit classes. Non-students teams of 10 are $100 per team. Individuals Non-students can sign up solo for $12. Each team will consist of a maximum of 10 wrestlers.
Metro students wishing to form a team should still sign up as FREE individual. All participants must complete a Metro Classic Wrestling Registration Form and Registration/Risk and Release of Liability Form. Non-student teams must complete/submit a team roster. Tournament – Sunday, January 14, 2007 at Millard South High School at 14905 Q St.
Registration Deadline for MCC credit students: Saturday, January 6, 2007. Non-students can register after Jan. 6 or on the same day of the tournament.
Weigh-ins: Saturday, January 13, 6:30pm to 8:30pm and Sunday anytime before 1:00pm.Competition level: Competitive Open Only. Wrestlers will be paired by weight.

Coed Volleyball 6 Week League
Cost: $5.00 per individual or $25 per team. Each team will consist of a minimum of 6, maximum of 10 per team. Registration Deadline is: Saturday, January 13, 2007. Games will be played: Sundays, 1:00pm to 4:00pm at Elkhorn’s Common Ground Recreation Center at 701 Veterans Dr. Elkhorn, NE. Each participant must complete a Registration/Risk and Release of Liability Form and turn in as a team w/payment. Return forms along with payment to Student Services.

Policies
You can access our registration/risk release form by clicking here or it will be in your registration packet which you can get at student services. This form must be completed and returned five days prior to the start date of the activity.
Sportsmanship
All teams, players, and fans are expected to abide by the highest standards of sportsmanship. Un sportsmanlike conduct or other inappropriate behavior occurring in Intramural Recreation Activities indoor and outdoor facilities before, during, or after intramural events will not be tolerated. Metro Community College reserves the right to disallow teams or individuals from participation due to improper conduct.
Suggestions
If you have any ideas for new games or any suggestions, feel free to leave us a note in the suggestion box or drop off your suggestions or ideas to any of the student services offices. We do have an online suggestion box, click mailbox  to visit.
Health
We do encourage those with pre-existing conditions to inform the school so proper medical attention can be administered.
Participants must understand that these activities are potentially hazardous and that fitness and athletic activities involve a risk of injury. Participants must sign the Registration/Risk and Release of Liability form, which you can view by clicking here or it will be included in your sign up packet.
