Metropolitan Community College has three types of learning communities. We offer student learning communities, faculty learning communities, and a college-wide learning community.
Student Learning Communities
Learning communities are student groups focused around classes, programs, interests or educational goals.
Joining a learning community enhances the college experience by enabling you to form closer relationships with instructors and classmates.
Faculty, counselors, advisors and students work together to help achieve academic goals. Your learning experience is strengthened because counseling services are built into the program.
MCC offers around 50 learning communities per quarter during the fall, winter and spring quarters. Offerings differ from quarter to quarter based on student needs.
Top 5 Reasons For Being Part of a Student Learning Community
- Extra faculty, counselor/advisor and peer support
- Meaningful learning experiences that connect your classes
- Closer relationships with your teachers
- Friendships and connections with other students
- Better chance for academic success
MCC's learning communities serve different purposes but all have one goal — to help you be successful at MCC, so you can fulfill your career goals.
