New databases

Off-campus access to the following databases is available with a current MCC username and password.

  • Black Studies in Video
Award-winning documentaries, newsreels, interviews and archival footage surveying the evolution of black culture in the United States. Includes films covering history, politics, art and culture, family structure, social and economic pressures, and gender relations.

  • BusinessDecision
Enables you to research consumer market data, demographic data, and market segmentation data associated with geographies you customize such as addresses, ZIP Codes, cities, and much more.

  • World Newsreels Online, 1929-1966
Captures full runs of many of the key international newsreels produced during the early twentieth century. These films, produced from 1929 right through to the early post-war period, provide a unique - and until now largely neglected, resource that will give scholars a real insight into how people learned about, and lived through the events that occurred during this period of history.
