"Hell and Back Again" details the transition of Sergeant Nathan Harris from the battlefield in Afghanistan to his home in North Carolina. A panel discussion followed the film, moderated by Bobby Polk. Polk is a retired Colonel in the Army Reserves, Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps, and currently serves as Director of Metropolitan Community College’s Criminal Justice Program. Panelists included Matt Stevens, Student Veterans of America Chapter President, Metropolitan Community College; Paul Greenwell, At Ease Program Therapist, Lutheran Family Services; and Donna Higgins, OIF/OEF Case Manager, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.

Faculty members were informed of the unique issues facing military students at the Instructional Staff Development Day on March 7th. The Office of Military and Veteran Support Services (MVSS) invited a series of speakers to raise awareness of military student issues and inform faculty members on military student supports.
