JAMES JOHNSON

James Johnson is a full-time faculty member of Metropolitan Community College. 

He currently serves on two College-wide IT related groups and is the lead faculty for the Networking program.  James had over 22 years of diverse and challenging experience in management, computers, and security for the U.S. Army before retiring. 

His education includes receiving a Bachelor of Business Administration (Management) on July 23, 1997 from Cameron University, Lawton, OK; Chemical Engineering and Related Studies at Iowa State University, Ames, IA; Business Administration at University of Alaska Southeast, Juneau, AK; Computer Programming and Networking Courses at Metro Community College, Omaha, NE; and Great Plains Area Vocation-Technical School, Lawton, OK. 

His thirty year background in computers and computer, information, and personnel security programs, as well as being a EC-Council Certified Ethical Hacker have proved valuable to him in teaching the Network Attacks, Intrusions, and Penetration Testing course and other security courses. 

LINDA LUTZ

Linda C. Lutz has been a full-time faculty member of Metropolitan Community College for five years.

Lutz graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a bachelor's degree in accounting and went on to pass the CPA exam. She worked for 1 1/2 years at Arthur Young & Co. She holds an insurance license for the State of Nebraska.

A graduate of Metropolitan Community College's Computer Technology program with an associate degree in Networking, Lutz has performed internships at Alegent Health and eFrame Technology Solutions, LLC, a locally based computing solutions firm.

Lutz teaches the firewall portion of Metro's Network Security training courses. Her accounting, insurance and computer backgrounds give her keen awareness of the need for security and privacy and the challenges faced by enterprises.

Gary Sparks

Gary Sparks is a full-time faculty member of Metropolitan Community College. A Microsoft Certified Professional, Gary is the department representative for the Computer and Office Technologies area of the college and is a Computer Operations Craftsman for the Nebraska Air National Guard. He is a graduate of Bellevue University with a bachelor degree in Management of Information Systems and a master's degree with a concentration in cyberlaw.

Gary has 18 years experience with the United States Air Force in information systems, information, physical and personnel security. He is the Midwest Center for Information Technology site coordinator for Metropolitan Community College and serves on the IT advisory board for the Bellevue Public Schools. He has presented sessions on information and network security at national conferences.
