Upcoming changes to the MCC student discount software program

Through Monday, March 26, 2012, MCC students will still be able to purchase greatly discounted Microsoft products including Office 2010. Microsoft is discontinuing this discount program and will start selling Office University (the equivalent of Office Pro Plus) for $99.95.  This product should be available on the website by April 1, 2012.

When accessing this site, you will need to create an account as the site is not managed by the College, and therefore does not utilize our single sign-in verification process. As part of the account creation process, you will need to enter your @mccneb.edu or @mail.mccneb.edu email account to verify purchase eligibility. If you have questions, click the Help link on the top right of the web page.

Metropolitan Community College's Career Services and Service-Learning areas invite you to a workshop and fashion show that will provide you with tips on how to look your best without breaking the bank. The workshop and a fashion show will be on Wednesday, March 28 on MCC's Fort Omaha Campus, Building 10, Room 136 B-D.

You're invited to the Academic Support Commons open house

If you haven't seen the new Academic Support Commons at the Elkhorn Valley Campus, then now is your chance. The ASC includes the services of the Academic Resource Center, Library, Writing Center and Math Center all in one new and convenient location.

Stop by the EVC ASC on Wednesday, March 14 between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. There are many new things to see since the renovations so stop by to visit with the staff, see all the changes and enjoy some refreshments in the Elkhorn Valley ASC.

Heart of Metro nominations now open

Students are invited to nominate an Metropolitan Community College employee for the Heart of Metro Award.

Award criteria

  • Employees may be full- or part-time
  • Employees must have completed one year of employment or three quarters of teaching
  • Employees are eligible for the award every three years
  • Employee must meet the following criteria addressed in the nomination:
    • Demonstrate a positive attitude
    • Lead change
    • Foster an inclusive workplace
    • Work smart
    • Respect diversity
    • Be service centered

Call for actors, directors and technical staff

The Great Plains Theatre Conference, presented by Metropolitan Community College, has opened a call for area actors, technical staff and directors who would like to participate in this year's 7th Annual Great Plains Theatre Conference, May 26-June 2. There are 30 PlayLabs and five MainStage readings to cast, as well as five PlayFest plays.

More than 250 artists will be used during the week of the conference. This is a unique opportunity to meet and work with top playwrights, directors, actors and theatre professionals from around the country.

You are required to submit your photo (preferably a headshot) and a theatre résumé and/or brief personal biography (150 words or less). Forms will be accepted until the conference begins.

Spring graduation application deadline: April 1

If you plan to graduate after Spring quarter (March 8-May 23), you need to apply to graduate by Sunday, April 1. Application are available online.

One MCC student currently enrolled in MCC's Culinary Arts or Hospitality programs has the chance to win a $3,000 scholarship sponsored by Omaha Steaks to be administered as part of the 2012 James Beard Foundation.
