NO COUNSELORS OR ADVISORS ARE ALLOWED TO REGISTER UTIL COURSES. REGISTRATION IS WORKED THROUGH THE FULL-TIME FACULTY.

Please inform students the earliest they will be able to enter the program is Fall 2009.

The Utility Line program has moved to the new Applied Technology Center located at 104th and State Street in Northwest Omaha.

Metro Community College offers the Utility Line Technician Associate in Applied Science degree (UTAAS)

General Education classes are also scheduled in coordination with the UTIL classes allowing the motivated student to complete their Associates degree in one year.

Weekend Option (This option blends online learning during weekdays with on campus "hands-on" labs on the weekend) The next weekend class begins Spring 2009.

These classes are only offered in the order and during the quarter listed above. For example, the Winter quarter classes have the prerequisite of the Fall quarter, and the Spring quarter classes have a prerequisite of the Winter quarter.

**Keep in mind that the UTIL 2981 Internship is generally completed during the Summer after completion of the UTIL course work in the traditional option and it may be begun after one year of study in the Weekend option.

The Utility Line Technician (UTL) program teaches skills and practical application in the installation, operation and maintenance of electrical utility lines. The student is prepared for installation, repair, and replacement of electrical power lines, poles, and other equipment.
