The Office of Public Affairs serves as the internal and
external communications gateway for Metropolitan Community College
(MCC), offering media relations, writing, editing, graphic design,
marketing, advertising and outreach services. Public Affairs is a
liaison among the College, the media and the general public and
works to build awareness of and pride in MCC and its people,
programs, research, teaching and events.
Our Mission
Public Affairs' mission is to foster an environment of open and
honest communication aimed at building trust and credibility with
MCC's key internal and external stakeholders and to help MCC forge
mutually beneficial relationships with individuals and
organizations vital to growth and development.
What We Do
The Office of Public Affairs is the umbrella for the Marketing
and Public Relations Department and the Community Affairs and
Outreach Department. Public Affairs works with both internal and
external clients. Our external client base focuses on the
four-county service area of Dodge, Douglas, Sarpy and Washington
counties. Internal clients include individuals looking to
promote/support department and program initiatives, Board of
Governors requests and event needs.
To meet the needs of these client groups and to promote MCC as
a whole, Public Affairs has individualized marketing, public
relations and outreach plans that have focused on need, strengths,
areas of opportunity and objectives and areas of focus provided by
upper-level administration.
