Welcome to Re-Engage Omaha MVP's Home Page

Omaha, Nebraska is home to the highest number of Fortune 500 companies for its size. But amid their prosperity is a diverse community suffering from poverty. According to the Family Bottom Line Report from Opportunity at Work, Omaha has one of the highest levels of low income working families. Among those families are a multitude of youth, ex-offenders and young veterans. Re-Engage Omaha--Metropolitan Community College's VISTA Program (MVP) focuses on reducing poverty specifically within the above listed groups. This will be accomplished by a team of VISTA members in two phases: Phase I will be focused on capacity building and research and planning; Phase II will focus on developing and implementing strategies based on the research and planning. These phases will support educational and career pathways, asset development and self-sufficiency among high school students, young offenders, and young veterans.
