Metropolitan Community College's Service-Learning program is intended to provide a service in the community and teach students meaningful academic and trade skills while providing a quality learning experience through instructor guided reflection.

What is Service-Learning and how does it work?
Service-Learning is a credit bearing experience in which students participate in an organized service activity that meets the needs of the participating community organization. There is a direct connection between the classroom's course content and the communties agency which foster a broader appreciation of the discipline and ends in an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.
Service-learning is a teaching method which combines community based learning with academic instruction. It focuses on critical, reflective thinking and civic responsibility. Service-learning programs involve students in an organized community project that addresses local needs, while developing their academic skills, sense of civic responsibility, and commitment to the community.
