Troubleshooting Tips

Epson 5350 Projector failure after power strike.

The reason for this phenomenon is in the design of the control microprocessor chip in the projector. These short power “hits” are followed by a voltage spike that sends an errant signal to the control chip that puts it in the protection mode.

Cooling fan is running at maximum output and the
red temperature light on front of the projector is blinking.

To correct this problem, unplug the power cord to the projector for 30 seconds. Plug the cord back in and this will cause the projector to reset to the normal state.

Since the projectors are ceiling-mounted, this procedure may be uncomfortable. Please notify the Helpdesk to have a technician perform the procedure.

Cooling fan is running at maximum output and
no indicator lights are on.

If the projector is on and in use when the power failure occurs, it will enter a projection mode. Unplug the projector from the mains power and wait 30 seconds before plugging it back in. The power connector is located on the back of the projector and plugged into an electrical outlet in the ceiling near the projector. Either end may be unplugged to perform this reset procedure.
