Great Plains Theatre Conference | Metropolitan Community College | Fort Omaha Campus | 30th and Fort Streets | Omaha, NE 68111
In 1993,
Edward Albee and Dr. Jo Ann C. McDowell began a collaborative
project to produce a nationally recognized Theatre Conference. As a result, Albee and Dr. McDowell
held the Last Frontier Theatre Conference in Alaska for 12 years. The commitment was made to the transition
to a new frontier through the 1st Annual Great Plains Theatre Conference, and we are pleased to announce
the dates for the 2nd Annual Great Plains Theatre Conference: May 26-June 4, 2007.
The Great Plains Theatre Conference will continue to seek the embodiment of Albee´s quest for an important, enduring discussion of theatre at the national level; to foster educational opportunities for developing playwrights and actors; and to bring serious theatre to new audiences, and thereby stimulate the appreciation and preservation of the theatre arts in our culture.
Special events to be featured at the 2007 conference include:
This Conference is funded in part by the Nebraska Humanities Council. This Conference is funded with the suppprt of the Nebraska Arts Council.
