Aaron Zavitz

Aaron has a Bachelor in Fine Arts Dramatic Arts from the University of Omaha at Nebraska and has been involved with theater for more than 15 years. He has acted professionally in Nebraska with the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival, Brigit Saint Brigit, and Blue Barn Theaters and, also with Aspen Theatre in the Park in Colorado. His most recent roles have been Father Flynn in 'Doubt', Ian in 'Shining City' and Felix in 'The Odd Couple'. His first writing venture was a produced short piece, ‘Stepping on Van Gogh’s Ear’, performed by the Shelterbelt Theatre in Omaha. His short play ‘Dialogue Heard on a Flooded River’ was accepted into the 1rst Annual Great Plains Theatre Conference in 2006. His full length play 'Tour of a Well-Kept House' was chosen for a full reading at the Great Plains Conference that was paneled by Edward Albee, Arthur Kopit, Romulus Linney and Will Eno. 'Tour' also received the 2008 Distinguished Artist Fellowship Award by the Nebraska Arts Council. Most recently, his short piece 'The Examiner' received a production at the Shelterbelt Theatre. Aaron is also, with his wife, Molly, a multi award-winning short filmmaker with many local film festivals and a national film festival win with Sony and Videomaker Magazine. Aaron is a member of the Dramatists Guild of America.
