David Williams

Williams is a senior writer for the Omaha City Weekly and has been the paper’s performing arts critic since 2005. Along with covering theater, opera, dance, poetry and a host of other cultural offerings, his byline is often found on political, social justice and lifestyle pieces. The freelance writer’s art reviews have appeared in a variety of publications, including The Encounter, the magazine of Omaha’s Old Market. As an artist, he held his first solo show in 2007 at Room in the Old Market Passageway and, in 2005, contributed two pieces to Benchmarks, the ambitious and far flung public art project. Williams is a frequent contributor to shows at the internationally acclaimed Bemis Center for Contemporary Arts, where he formerly acted as communications manager.
