Cathy KurzCathy M. W. Kurz

Cathy Kurz has been directing for over 30 years, in university, community and professional venues. Since founding Brigit Saint Brigit 16 years ago, she has served fulltime as its Artistic Director, conceiving the Theatre's classic mission and preserving it through the production of over 80 plays ranging from Euripides to Shakespeare, Austen to Wilde, O'Casey to Beckett and beyond. Ms. Kurz has directed more than 50 of Brigit's productions, such as The Playboy of The Western World, Hamlet, Cyrano de Bergerac, The Sea Gull, The House of Bernarda Alba, Juno and The Paycock, Endgame, Hedda Gabler, Translations, Shining City, A Streetcar Named Desire, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Dancing at Lughnasa, Othello, Much Ado About Nothing and The Beauty Queen of Leenane. She holds masters degrees in theatre and English and for the past 10 years has also been a part-time faculty member at Creighton University, teaching in the English Department's World Literature Program.
