Derrick Crawford

Derrick is a 2008 Great Plains Theatre Conference Best Actor Award recipient and currently resides in Omaha. Since debuting in 2003, he has graced stages all across Omaha and surrounding areas. His experience includes performances at the Omaha Community Playhouse as George in Intimate Apparel, Bill in Give ‘Em Hell, Harry!, Noah (Horse) T. Simmons in The Full Monty, Hud in Hair, and Chief Sitting Bull in Annie Get Your Gun; a role that landed him the Playhouse’s Bill Bailey Debut Award. He performed the title role in Brigit Saint Brigit Theatre Company’s production of Othello as well as Mother in A Hatful of Rain. Other performances include Jim in Big River (Chanticleer Community Theatre) and York in Lewis and Clark, Part One – Manifest Destiny (Creighton University.) He was the rehearsal stand-in for Mr. Danny Glover during Omaha’s Holland Performing Arts Center opening ceremonies. Other theatre affiliations include The Rose, SNAP Productions, The Shelterbelt Theatre, The John Beasley Theatre and Workshop, and the Dundee Dinner Theatre. His directorial credits include From Shelterbelt with Love 6 & 8 and his TV credits include commercials for Godfather’s Pizza.
