Ryan Kathman

As a director, Ryan has worked professionally in Memphis (How the Other Half Loves), Minneapolis (Blue Collar Diaries) and, soon, Nebraska (he’ll be directing The Magician’s Nephew at the Lincoln Community Playhouse this winter). He has adapted, directed and produced a number of children’s plays in Memphis and the Twin Cities, including Toward Canterbury, an original piece inspired by “The Canterbury Tales” for the Minnesota Fringe Festival. Most recently, he helmed the UNL Theatrix production – and Nebraska premiere – of Kung Fu Hamlet. Originally from Omaha, he graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with degrees in theater and education and is currently pursuing his MFA from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in acting. Onstage he can be seen this summer in Flatwater Shakespeare’s The Merry Wives of Windsor, the Nebraska Repertory Theater’s Vino Veritas and Anatomy of Gray, as well as Angels Theater Company’s True West.
