Charleen J. B. Willoughby

Ms. Willoughby has been a company member with Brigit Saint Brigit for the last six years where she has portrayed the earthy Belfast housewife in Brian Friel's The Freedom of The City; Penny in You Can't Take It with You; Valerie, in Conor McPherson's The Weir; Arkadina in The Sea Gull; one of the three Weird Sisters in Macbeth; Arsenic and Old Lace's delightful Abby Brewster; the boisterous would-be-IRA landlady in O'Casey's The Shadow of A Gunman and Bulah in Tennessee Williams’ Orpheus Descending. Last summer she returned to the joy of Shakespeare, delivering the role of Soneril in King Lear for the Nebraska Shakespeare Festival. Ms. Willoughby holds a BS in secondary education and an MA in theatre from the University of Nebraska-Omaha. For her master's thesis, she performed the role of Eleanor of Aquitaine in The Lion in Winter. She appeared as Lady Bracknell in The Importance of Being Earnest with the Living Picture Project, and at UNO has undertaken a number of roles including Nurse Ratched in One Flew over The Cuckoo's Nest, Ouiser in Steel Magnolias, Clytemnestra in Electro, Lady Fidget in The Country Wife, Mrs. Sibbs in Our Town, and Homebody in Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul.
