Stephen Gaines Stephen A. Gaines

Steve has been active in the theatre since 1947 and a member of Actor’s Equity for twenty-five years. Recently he’s been trying to “retire” from the stage and focus on having a good time with his Children (5), Grand Children (15), and Great Grand Children(1). He retired from his day job of over thirty years with UNL ten years ago. In the last several years he has done: Bottom in Mid Susmmer, Sir Andrew Aguecheek in 12th Night, Esculus in Much Ado, Seton in Macbeth, Prospero in Tempest, Sir Nathaniel in Love’s Labors Lost, Archbishop of Cantebury in Henry V, Lear in King Lear, and Baptista in Taming of the Shrew with Flatwater Shakespeare in Lincoln. He has also done Scrooge in Xmas Carol, and Guy Fitzgivens in Pride and Prejudice with the Hay Market Theatre. In last year’s conference he read in David Rush’s “One Fine Day.”
