Max Sparber

Max Sparber is a playwright, blogger, and arts journalist who lives in Minneapolis. His first play, Minstrel Show, or The Lynching of William Brown was first produced by Omaha's Blue Barn Theatre in 1998, and told the true story of the murder of an African American man in Omaha in 1919. Sparber's plays, as well as voluminous other writing, can be read online at maxsparber.com.

 

The Older Gentleman

The Older Gentleman tells of a young man's coming of age in rural Nebraska in the Sixties, particularly dealing with his relationship with an older voice tutor, a homosexual who once fled Nebraska for Hollywood, and has now returned to grapple with his sexuality.
