Steven Bogart writes, paints and teaches theater in the Boston area. He holds a BFA fromTufts University, an MA from Emerson College, and an MFA the University of New Orleans. His play, Conspiracy of Memory was a Kennedy Center Finalist for New American Plays in 2002, and was premiered in Boston in 2004. His play, Alice In War was part the Summer Play Festival in New York City in 2007 and Chicago’s Stage Left Theater’s Leapfest in 2008. Other plays premiered at the 2006 and 2007 Boston Theater Marathon. He is cofounder of Rouged Ape, a paratheatrical theater company working in the Boston area. He is a 2009 Massachusetts Cultural Council Grant recipient for playwriting. He teaches and directs at Lexington High School.


Pigcat is a about Freddy, a highly excitable impulsive boy trying to navigate through the turbulence of an alcoholic step-father and an unsympathetic step-brother while waiting for his mother to return and take him away to a better life.
