Irrational Exuberance

Irrational Exuberance is a darkly comic full-length play about big business and personal responsibility. A downsized former corporate manager is stuck living with her mom and working in a gas station. The C.E.O. of a bankrupt and scandal-ridden company clings to the belief that selling “air futures” was a great idea. A lonely, wealthy woman searches for a purpose in life larger than spending her husband’s money and handing out free tasers. And a junior executive is looking for a way to have it all — a fabulous condo, career success and sex with the boss’ wife — without winding up in prison. In an office building in downtown Chicago, at an airport and in a gas station in rural Indiana, these four people come face to face with one another and with the consequences of their actions. The results are both hilarious and devastating.
