Amy Lane


Amy Lane is Resident Director for the Omaha Community Playhouse and an instructor with the University of Nebraska-Omaha’s Department of Theatre.  As Resident Director, Amy created OCP’s 21 & Over series, which showcases the best of 21st century American plays in a Reader’s Theatre format and presents some of Omaha’s edgiest performing artists.   Amy has directed many award-winning productions such as Almost, Maine at the Omaha Community Playhouse, A Servant to Two Masters at BLT, and Mrs. Jennings’ Sitter at Shelterbelt.  On stage, she was last seen as Becca in the Blue Barn’s production of Rabbit Hole, which premiered at the 2010 Great Plains Theatre Conference honoring playwright, David Lindsay Abaire. She holds a B.F.A. from Creighton University, an M.F.A. in Directing from the University of Memphis and a PhD from Wayne State University.
