M. Michele Phillips

Director

M. Michele has been a contributor to the conference since it’s inaugural year and, “ . . . it just keeps getting more exciting.” This year she is directing Lee Blessing’s FORTINBRAS with a stellar cast and crew. Michele has acted and/or directed in nearly every theatrical venue in the metro. Some of her most recent directorial efforts include DOUBT, COMPLETE FEMALE STAGE BEAUTY, ANGELS IN AMERICA/PERESTROIKA, EXECUTION OF JUSTICE, LOOSE KNIT and the redoubtable VALLEY OF THE DOLLS. She has  appeared in over 50 theatrical productions, as well as commercials, industrials, TV and film, and has provided character voices for the
nationally syndicated cartoon series STREET SHARKS, ARCHIE’S WEIRD MYSTERIES and DINO SQUAD. This past fall, she was proud to be added to the roster of the Nebraska Arts Council’s Artists in the Schools program. Michele is a freelance writer/producer for her company, City Desk Arts. She also teaches broadcast voice classes for Talent Works, as well as Acting and Improv classes for the Omaha Community Playhouse. She is a graduate of UNO with a Bachelor of Arts/Dramatic Arts degree and currently serves as the Associate Artistic Director of SNAP! Productions.
