Amy Black graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln in May of 2002 with a B.A. in
Theatre Arts. Her first Rough Magic Productions collaboration was co-directing Grimm Tales that
summer. She moved to Chicago in the fall. Upon her return to Lincoln in the fall of 2004, Black
played Serena in Touch and became a Rough Magic Productions member shortly thereafter. She was
elected managing director in January 2005 and finished her term in September 2006. Other Rough
Magic Productions credits include Stranger than Fiction, Summerstock II and Matt and Ben. Black
continues to feed her love for the arts as executive coordinator of the Lied Center for Performing Arts,
a martial arts student at Sho Rei Shobu Kan and a member of Rough Magic Productions.
