Catherine Rogers

Catherine Rogers is a playwright and actor. Her solo work includes The Sudden Death of Everyone and Georgia O´Keefe x Catherine Rogers (published in Voices Made Flesh). She has acted as Marti in Sep´ ul kur, Sister Greta in Where Sleeping Gods Lie, Sheryl in How to See in the Dark, Marjorie in Library Play, Dancer in Four Saints in Three Acts and Lead in Wasteland. Rogers wrote Historia Calamitatum: The Story of His Misfortunes, Einstein´s Daughter, Eva Hesse, Cowpoker: About Love, May I Have This Dance (published in Spontaneous Combustion Anthology #1), Burnt and Iowa Caucus. She has taught writing workshops at the University of Texas, Parsons School of Design, Missouri Western State College, the College of Saint Rose, New York University and others. She was playwright in the schools with Theatre for a New Audience and Broadway Theatre Institute in New York. Rogers has an M.F.A. in Playwriting from the University of Texas–Austin where she was a James A. Michener Fellow. She lived on the Great Plains for six years, attended the University of Kansas and managed the Missouri Theatre in St. Joseph where she was a founding member of Robidoux Resident Theatre. A member of the Dramatists Guild currently completing a fellowship for the Women´s Studio Workshop, Rogers will be teaching and developing new work as a Fulbright Fellow in Greece in 2009.
