Connie Jo Podendorf is proud to have worked with some of the best local playwrights, directors,
educators and actors in the metro area and is a strong advocate in keeping the arts alive in schools.
Podendorf has performed and stage managed at many area theatres. Some of her favorite roles were
performed at the BlueBarn Theatre, SNAP! Productions, Shelterbelt Theatre, Chanticleer Theater,
Omaha Theatre Company (The Rose), the Dundee Dinner Theatre, Bellevue Little Theater and
Iowa Western Community College. Podendorf has served on the board of Theatre Arts Guild (TAG)
and is a recipient of the TAG Backstage Award, Bob Robert´s Board Appreciation Award, MAG
Award for Best Actress in a Musical, Council Bluffs Children´s Theatre Recognition Award and a
Recognition Award for her mentoring for the Abraham Lincoln High School Speech Program. She
was an honorary inductee of the International Thespian Society of Abraham Lincoln High School and
Thomas Jefferson High School and also served as judge for the Iowa High School Speech Association
for many years before coaching. When not performing, stage managing or coaching, Podendorf is
employed with Alegent Health Mercy Hospital as a unit secretary.
