Jack Carpenter is the artistic director for Rough Magic Productions. His favorite roles include Henry
in The Real Thing, Frank in Private Eyes, Brian in The Shadowbox and Carl in The Baltimore Waltz, as
well as the only man in Nebraska Next!, an exciting original piece depicting women´s struggle to gain
the right to vote in Nebraska mounted by the Angels Theatre Company. Donning the director´s cap,
Carpenter has mounted such productions as Pterodactyls, Burn This, The Illusion, Kid-Simple, Terrence
McNally´s controversial Corpus Christi, K. (an original work about the life and works of Franz Kafka)
and Mr. Marmalade. His next project, another original work by playwright Gregory Peters, tackles the
epic of Gilgamesh and the events surrounding its unearthing in Victorian England.
