Karen Cordes, a consummate actress, has done numerous roles with the Grande Olde Players Theatre
(GOPT) and also performed at many area community theatres including Baby D Productions,
Bellevue Little Theatre and Gretna Community Theatre. One of her most memorable roles was as
Ouiser in Steel Magnolias both on the Gretna stage and at the GOPT. Cordes has recently retired from
the University of Nebraska Medical Center in the research department and wonders how she ever had
time to work.
