One of Brigit Saint Brigit´s (BSB) longest-standing company members, Laura Leininger first
performed with the company in The Cherry Orchard and since then regularly has undertaken leading
or supporting roles with wit, perceptiveness and skill. Her imaginative acting talent is evidenced in a
partial list of her work with BSB: the rapaciously inept Mae in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, the comically sinister
Mag in Martin McDonagh´s The Beauty Queen of Leenane, nosey-parker Chick in Crimes of
the Heart, an earthy and ironic Mistress Quickly in Henry IV, Part 1, the tongue-in-cheek touchstone
Julia in The Rivals, 19th-century heroine Mina Harker in Dracula, an intense and courageous Emilia
in Othello, the serenely-lovely Jane Bennet in Pride and Prejudice, a terrifyingly-strange Weird Sister
in Macbeth, the delicate survivor Maire in Brian Friel´s Translations and a heartbreakingly courageous
Eugene O´Neill heroine in the title role of Anna Christie. Leininger´s acting training began at
Connecticut College and continued when she became a recipient of the Strasberg Scholarship at the
Strasberg Theatre Institute. She completed her formal theatrical education with a stint at the Eugene
O´Neill National Theatre Institute.
