Marie Amthor is a junior at Siena Heights University in Michigan. She is currently studying theatre/communications and creative writing. The script to her first fulllength play, The Baby Journals, was produced on the Siena main stage in October 2005. She has since been working on the trilogy of one-acts comprising her show The Space Between that includes Coming up for Air.
While her passion is playwriting, Amthor is also heavily involved in the acting and directing aspects of theatre. She made her directorial debut at Siena during her freshman year where she produced Selma Thompson´s A Modest Proposal. She went on to assistant direct Molière´s Tartuffe in the fall of 2006. She has also appeared in West Side Story, Anything Goes, Anton in Show Business, Blood Brothers and, last summer, played Irshad in Glyn O´Malley´s A Heartbeat to Baghdad.
